INTRODUCTION TO ENCAUSTIC CLASSES
Classes are offered through Auric Gallery, downtown Colorado Springs. Click HERE for class schedule.
Encaustic painting is a process of painting using beeswax and tree resin, and melting it into layers.
In this four hour session, students will learn not only the basics of encaustic, but the different materials you can use within the medium. Students will experiment with encaustic paints, image transfers, shellac burn, scraping back for textures, and layering objects/paper within the wax. Students will walk away with a ready-to-hang 8”x8” cradled panel, 6”x6” encaustic board, and any other practice pieces they accumulate.
No prior encaustic experience necessary, just come ready to get messy and creative. Looking forward to sharing my passion with you!
